this community is so lonely and that's sad!

i go to carnegie mellon university, and i'm hoping to get back into riding this semester. i've got a couple of stables i'll be calling when i get back in town to try to find a trainer...

but does anyone else still read this community? where are you from/ where do you school? anyone else from cmu or pitt?

ohh i've never formally introduced myself here, but i watch, and am about 20 minutes north of the city. I event and do lots of traveling to shows, but the barn i ride at is still 20 minutes north of me, so it would be a bit of a hike.

i'm looking at colleges for next year, but i'm hoping for something more down south and with fingers crossed, somewhere that would give me money to be on the equestrian team... haha. i have high hopes, i know :)

I started out at Virginia Tech ... if you want to go south, it's a great school with a phenomenal equine science program. I was never able to get on the equestrian team since they have such a huge interest and give preference to animal/equine science majors (I was a lit student), but I heard nothing but good things about it. Plus, VT was the funnest place to party, ever. I had a whirlwind of a time there.

hello! i live in moon township which is near sewickley. i ride out at an eventing barn in clinton, its only about 15-20 mintues until you hit west virginia. it'd be pretty far out for you to get there., i'm sorry. best of luck though!

i have a couple years until college, but i'm looking down south where there are alot of oppurtunities to ride.

I graduated from Pitt and work at Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland, so ... hi, neighbor. :)

The Pitt team rides at Mingo Creek Farm with Becki Bloom near Finleyville, which is about an hour drive from Oakland, depending on traffic.

I ride in West Newton, which is about 50 minutes south of the city from Route 51. If you're looking for the best dressage trainer ever, I'll tell you his name!

My familiarity with barns in the area is limited to those primarily south of the city (as I live in the South Hills), so if you want any advice or recommendations, just ask! I'd be happy to run my mouth (or fingers?) for a while.
